A Volcano. Seriously?

Saturday April 17, 2010 - A volcano. Seriously?

So, I should be getting ready to pick my parents up from the airport tomorrow, but due to the volcano in Iceland of all things their flight has been (hopefully) only delayed. Then, I will be able to welcome them to Paris in the Spring!!

"When spring came, even false spring, there were no problems except where to be happiest"

-Ernest Hemingway in A Moveable Feast

I highly recommend this book to anyone who is planning a trip to Paris or has been before. It is about Hemingway and his first wife during their time in Paris when his career was just starting out; makes falling in love with Paris easy! ...Well, in spring at least! But, I mean come on, this is pretty hard not to love:

Friday was my last day teaching at the french high school. Some of my classes were on a field trip to London for the week (so jealous!), so I only have a picture with one class. Since it was the day before vacation, I think there were about 9 absences. (Not like they can actually go anywhere with this darn volcano..........)

Leaving was bittersweet! It was definitely a challenge, but I loved every second in the classroom! I'll miss my little french high schoolers...

Now fingers crossed, here's to getting to pick my parents up on Monday afternoon when the French airports are scheduled to re-open! I'll keep you posted :)

UPDATE: So finally, my parents trip *should* be April 23- May 9. Let's hope this volcano's neighbor doesn't decide to wake up.
